Latest and greatest

Hi all,
I thought I'd let you know about some great resources for webpages and class projects.

www.snappages.com is the best for attractive and fast pages that you can make look how you like- the templates are less restrictive than google pages. I have switched to these for my pages.

I am also recommending high school students join goodreads for library club and Accelerated reader and for general reading growth.

Is any one out there?

Hi guys,
Is there anyone still using this site for shared info? I haven't been on for a long time but I wanted to share with you a new blog/webpage/wiki site. I'm trying it out this time. The students can work on wiki style work but in a site much more useful than the zoomshare site I showed you. It is Netcipia http://www.netcipia.net/xwiki/bin/view/MyNetcipia/
Take care

Congrats to Ray & Marlene

Congratulations to Marlene & Ray on receiving the inaugural International Association of School Librarianship Technology Innovation Award for their development of iBrary. How cool that we all had a part in it by providing the content through our blog entries, comments, videos, and photos. Yay for 2.0! Double yay for Marlene & Ray. The award will be presented in Berkeley in August and I am thrilled I will be there to see you receive it.

Final Assignment-Class Activity

My activity is geared toward grade 2 and I am planning to execute it this week with my class. since this is the end of the year and everyone is gearing down the computer lab becomes a busy place. It seems like everyone only wants in there at the end of the year to "kill time". I have planned an activity for my grade 2/3class. We are going to start by using a RAN (Reading and Analyzing Nonfiction Strategy) chart which is similar to a KWL chart. The students will write down one fact they think… Continue

Curriculum Plan Activity by Mel C

Overview:

Current teaching practices and learning models stress the importance of using a constructivist approach to ensure that students are learning by making sense of the world with the resources provided through the curriculum. In order to this, students need to learn with others while constructing their own knowledge in an individual process. Here is a lesson plan that explores natural disasters for a Grade 7 Social Studies class that attains curriculum outcomes for both Social… Continue
