Here's a great site for how to make movies with kids.

HI, I'm missing a step when trying to put a video on my "my page" can anyone help me? Do I create a hyperlink?

Hi Dawn, it isn't as easy to know what's been newly posted as it was in Moodle so I find I'm reading everything in the forum, especially, each time I check in. Too bad the new post wasn't flagged to indicate what you haven't read since your last time logging on. That would make it easier. According to Ray's latest e-mail I have changed my blogs to be viewed by all my friends (again) instead of just by me. It sounds like some people are having trouble with either using iBrary or receiving comments. I think this part of the course, although it's been different than the last part, is going well. I've enjoyed the readings and our conversations.

Help
I'm finding the best way to follow the discussion in "forum" is to locate them from my groupwise and follow the link .
Are there other ways?
I feel like I'm missing stuff.

It does keep us busy..... between "forum" and "group" and different threads in all these places!
I guess we're multi-taskers!
Soon I'll be able to take orders, make change and cook fries all at the same time, too!
Great discussion happening tonight on "form" page, it's getting in the way of more reading....GTG

Hey, I wrote a comment there!! but you're right, there isn't anything happening there yet, maybe soon. It kind of keeps one busy jumping back and forth from our groups to the forums, doesn't it?

Hi Karen,
I just re-read Marlene's email so I went to "my settings" and changed it so I was the only one to see my work. This is also the place where "Be appoved" was an option... Is this a new literacy format...?
Also, I published a web site on main page but thought I'd add it here, too. Marlene thought it was good.

I'm collecting thoughts for chapter one as I re-read it. I'll post something for it soon.
I found my comments from Marlene to be positive and supportive. What a great course.

Dawn I noticed that when I made a comment on your page I was prompted with - your comment has to be approved before you will see it posted. I either thought you didn't notice that you could automatically post the comments or you thought that Karen Jollimore makes some weird postings so I better wait and read them first before I approve (Ha,ha).
About reading our friends' postings, from the e-mail we got today from Marlene and Ray, we are not to post our reflections so our friends can view them. We are only to post them to ourselves. I'm like you and have enjoyed reading other postings (with our last section especially) so I'm a bit disappointed that we can't read what other people are thinking. I guess that's the reason for our groups, so we can chat here.
I just finished reading chapter 9 and will probably post something later.

Hi everyone, I wanted to post a link to one of the letters to the editor in today's newspaper, in case you missed it. It's from a professor at UPEI (no, it's not Ray) commenting on today's interconnected world. I thought it was appropriate for our new literacy discussions.

http://www.theguardian.pe.ca/index.cfm?sid=138180&sc=104

Also, I was checking out the Guardian site for something else and came across an article about one of our teacher-librarians who was named president elect of our teacher's federation this past weekend. Thought I would include some of her comments here - ""As a teacher-librarian, I am heartened by the recent widespread focus on literacy across a lifetime. This is a message teacher-librarians have been championing for years. Provincial governments, community groups, the private sector, labour groups and the public are acknowledging the importance of literacy and are poised to undertake and support initiatives to promote literacy in our province, and indeed, across the country.
"While public schools have a major role to play in this quest, we do not work in isolation.
"Finally, it is being recognized that many partners work together and that literacy must be addressed across a lifetime, including early childhood, public school, post-secondary, and while an adult learner. It is never too early or too late to promote literacy", said. St. Jean.
She said classroom composition continues to be a major source of stress for teachers. Multiple needs, multi-level teaching, individual education plans, meetings with parents, and endless classroom management demands continue to rise, yet one's energies and the hours in a day remain finite.
While many initiatives have been put in place to provide additional human resources and programs, more is needed as many teachers are finding it a struggle on a daily basis, said St. Jean."
