i Melanie,
Now that iBrary is becoming more comfortable for everyone, I'm catching up with everyone's progress. I see your posting about assessment on the forum but don't see any blog posting yet on your personal page. Can you let me know if you're having trouble posting? If so, just email me your posting in regular mail!

Final Reflection

I read through everything I posted and I was a little disappointed in my personal blogs, so I think my strongest reflections were all posted to the forum. I have mixed feelings over this part of the course. At first I thought I really had a grasp on "new literacies" even before we delved deep into the readings, then I realized I didn't. Getting knocked down like that is never a positive experience but it mkaeks you want to fight harder and rise to the challenge. I feel like I did that. I was alw… Continue

Kapitzke's articles

I found these so hard to understand. I don't know if I was just tired, or if they really were difficult. The 2005 article which is where she talks a lot about the National Geographic site really frustrated me. I was frustrated with the site not with Kapitzke. The thought of all the advertisements, and "nonsense" articles really started to change my opinion of National Geographic(NG). I grew up with that magazine being "the" source for reliabe information. I would have thought as a teacher that t… Continue
