I was chatting with my bro-in law on the weekend and he mentioned Eugene and Darlene Gallant. Small world, he was talking about their daughter Diedre who teaches piano to my niece.
How are things with you?

Thanks for being my friend! I'm totally new at this.
I think it is awesome how you spend your summers on the river! I would love to do that too someday. I live on Mill River.

About Me:
Hi Everyone,
My name is Pamela Elizabeth Taylor (maiden name)
The famous Liz Taylor, I'm not. My university initals were pet and I had this engraved inside my UPEI grad ring.
I am married to Blane MacLellan of Indian River, we have been married for 24 years. We do not have any children, but we have many wonderful nieces and nephews. We have a godchild, Krista who is very special to us. She moved to Calgary in the past year to join the health care profession as a nurse. She is working in the area of pediatric oncology.
I have been teaching for over 22 years.
I'm presently working as the teacher-librarian at KISH.
My husband and I have been boating for 12 years, we enjoy having a floating cottage, with no grass to cut. This is our summer social and tailgate parties are very common. When we are trying to decide if we go boating or golfing - boating usually wins.
I have been a member of the KISH bookclub (now known as The Lit Chicks) since January of 1999. Our bookclub was originally made up of eight teachers presently on our staff, since the start some have changed positions, but have remained faithful to the group

Final Assignment

Assignment # 2. Curriculum Plan for Teaching New Literacies
I want to thank one of the senior high English teachers for her dedicated work in the area of literacy and this activity.
I have chosen to introduce and use a program similar to iBrary called Aturor. Atutor will allow for a discussion forum and a section for blogging information relevant to the course, especially in the area of reflection and journal responses.
The site contact/computer teacher will need to set up a link on the school w… Continue

Final Reflection

Final Reflection
Review all of your entries from your personal blog and forum contributions. Select three of your most powerful entries for your reflection on this part of the course. (One page reflection)

Having completed the iBrary forum discussion questions and the blog postings, I feel a sense of accomplishment at this stage. I did have to adjust to iBrary after using Moodle for session one and two. The engaging activity of reading and responding to comments from colleagues online through d… Continue

Reflection -Teaching New Literacies
Class # 11
I need to rethink how I practice learning in order to assist student with their learning. They are definitely in a different place with their practice of using new literacies. Majority of students have better equipment at home for play, while at school they are handicapped by the limited technology. Our school has too many 98 computers that need to be replaced, this the reality.
The use of the word “new” create a mixture of reactions, fear, anxiety,… Continue

Role Playing – Discussion Four Musketeers
Chapter 4.
Hi Girls,
As Mother’s of young adults and young children have you seen your children involved in role-playing games online? I have not played online games so this is new to me. I understand the primary, secondary, and tertiary text set-up and the authorship system much better now then I did previously. It is definitely a different form of narrative for students to engage in. The concept of agency and authority and their relationships in develo… Continue

Pam Re: Literacies Sampler

Class #10 – Personal Reflection
When I think of new literacies, I feel like I need to play catch-up. I have heard about and used some of these new literacies mentioned, but I feel I need to learn so much more in order to assist students in their learning process. In order to have a relationship with the learner I need to know about these “new literecies” and the role they will play in the day-to –day experience in and out of school. I will need to learn how to implement these into my teaching, s… Continue
