Hi Ray,
I love the pictures you found to include with our group names. They are soooo appropriate!

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the last part of this course. Your choice of having Dr. Todd was great. I learned a lot from him and his suggestions, responses, and comments. It seemed like he was always online and ready to respond as soon as we posted something.

I also enjoyed having the opportunity to do this course online. We were able to participate in a similar learning environment that is encouraged with discovery learning and most importantly we were able to proceed on our own timetable (to a certain extent) and learn independently while reflecting on our learning.

I suggested in a discussion on our group's forum that maybe we/you could get a list of recommended readings that Dr. Todd suggested with different postings to individual responses. I think it's important to continue with our own professional development and to learn more about this process of Guided Inquiry and how to implement it into our Resource Based Learning projects.

Hi Ray,
I'm getting a number of responses from fellow classmates. This is a new experience using iBrary. I will need to revisit this site in order to do more reading.
I'm off to the kitchen to make lunch for tomorrow. See you Tuesday.Pam

Daniel Pink and schools today

As you get into this third part of the course, watch this video where Daniel Pink challenges educators to look through a different lens when exploring what schools should be doing to prepare students for their future.

Net Generation Article

Hi Folks
Just wanted to thank you for your hospitality on my recent visit to your class and wet, wet Vancouver.
I must say that it was exciting to meet all of you and see face-to-face the community of learners that is emerging in your class. It's also interesting how that learning is spilling over into iBrary.

I was very pleased with the session at BC Libraries where I gave my keynote. Several people have written to me with many positive comments. Hopefully Marlene and/or… Continue

A Useful Slidecast

Hi Folks
I have recently joined SlideShare where people can post slideshows and view other ones posted by people around the world (kind of like Flickr , YouTube and that great new one TeacherTube ).

Kathryn Greenhill, a librarian in Australia, has posted a very good slidecast called What is Library 2.0? You will find it very helpful.

What is a slidecast, you ask? You take a slideshow (PowerPoint in this case), add a pod cast to it, and you get a slidecast. (Someone really… Continue

Key words from the Librarians' 2.0 Manifesto

Last night in class, we viewed the YouTube clip Librarians' 2.0 Manifesto and then we had a lively discussion about how that relates to our current work and where we might all be going in the future.

We did a word call-out of key words or phrases that summarizes linking thoughts from the discussion.

Let it go! Don't wait til it's perfect. Change Change will occur slowly

Be not afraid! exploration encourage time-consuming

Transformation Lab - Prototyping the Library of the Future

I just posted a very interesting video that summarizes several innovations made in one public library. Titled , Transformation Lab - Prototyping the Library of the Future, this video shows how the power of new technologies and the creative energy of library users is being harnessed to transform how libraries become integrated into our lives. They tell of "Five lessons Learned" through this series of innovative library-based programs… Continue
